Looking for My Fortune

For the last month I have been wanting some plain lo mein. I don't usually want Chinese food. I mean it's okay but an hour later I am usually hungry again. Tonight I finally give into my craving and for $2.20 I get a pint of plain lo mein. When I get home I am surprised to find a fortune cookie. I know that Chinese food usually comes with a fortune cookie. I guess I was thinking that since I got such a small order I had given up my right to a cookie. As I am eating I was thinking about the fortune inside my cookie. I was hoping it would be a really good one. I really needed something positive. My life is usually like Murphy's Law, "if anything can go wrong, it will." I think these cookies are fun and I don't really think the fortunes are going to really influence my life. Although one can hope. Has anyone even won the lottery using those numbers on the back? I finish eating and I pick up my fortune cookie. I crack it open to get my fortune. I look inside and think to myself this is so typical in regards to my fortune. There is no little paper in there. I look around thinking that maybe it fell out and I didn't notice. Nope no fortune around. The cookie has no fortune! What does this even mean? I think someone just fell asleep on the job of stuffing the fortune in the cookies that day.
