I do not know if anyone else has words that annoy them.  It is not necessarily the word or the meaning of the word that gets me.  It is the way the word sounds when it is said.  For me there are quite a few words that whenever I hear them I just shrivel inside.  Words like bloating, milk, crest, sconce, scone, levity, colcannon.  There are also words that when used in combination with other words just irk me to no end.  Such as bed bound or doughnut hole.

I am sure there are several more words or word combinations that annoy me.  This is just what I came up with off the top of my head.  If only some words had more synonyms.  I could just use the related word instead.  I realize I am being silly, but it is just one of my many quirks.  Maybe I could come up with some less annoying words as a replacement.
